Our client, a full-service integrated SME marketing agency, are seeking a hardworking Finance Manager to join their vibrant team on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days). The agency are highly respected SME with a Turnover of circa £2-3m and have a number of high profile clients. The client are happy for the incoming candidate to work 1 day a week in the office and the rest from home.

This role will take sole charge of the finance function, reporting into a CEO and working closely with an external accountant at Year End.

The role will suit a part-qualified/ finalist or QBE candidate who has strong all round accounting experience in an SME environment and capable producing a full management accounts pack.

The role is a permanent position paying between £45,000-£52,000 (pro-rata) + hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining Accounts Payable, Sales ledger and bank postings/ reconciliations
  • Producing income report
  • Producing the management reports with variance analysis on a monthly basis for the board
  • Performing various account reconciliations
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Compiling weekly cash flow forecast
  • Payment runs on a weekly basis
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Compiling payroll journals- working alongside external payroll firm
  • Assisting with Year-End Audit
  • Other responsibilities

Person Specification

  • Strong Bookkeeping experience
  • Management Accounts experience
  • Experience of Sage/ Sage 50 - Highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a sole finance role - highly desirable
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experience working closely with a CEO/CFO would be desirable
