We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing real estate business in central London, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. The Finance Manager will spearhead financial operations by preparing monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flows for UK&I sites while conducting variance analysis and crafting insightful Board Reports. They will manage business rates, oversee accounts payable processes, liaise with auditors and tax specialists to drive continuous improvement in financial systems and controls, and provide mentorship while championing the accounting software and collaborating with senior stakeholders to shape financial strategy and cultivate a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly consolidated profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, including journal preparation and review
  • Create accruals for all sites, manage the fixed asset register, and handle accrued income for the business
  • Conduct site-by-site profit and loss reviews with month-on-month variance analysis
  • Review the Head Office P&L statement, including month-on-month variance analysis
  • Prepare finance sections of the monthly Board Report with actual versus budget commentary
  • Perform monthly reviews of detailed and consolidated bank reconciliations for all group bank accounts
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and group VAT returns, ensuring compliance with the Senior Tax Manager
  • Address general finance queries from regional managers to identify cost savings
  • Serve as the in-house software champion for the accounting system and manage queries and system development with IT support
  • Review and approve payments, invoices, and credit notes; collaborate with FP&A on budget preparation; strengthen internal controls; mentor staff; and support the Head of Finance with ad hoc queries

Qualifications

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with a 2 years post qualification experience
  • Experience managing a team and training/supervising junior staff
  • Experience working within the real estate sector (desired)
