The Role:The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the Company’s end-to-end financial operations and maintaining accurate and complete accounting records, including balance sheet reconciliations. The role will be required to work closely with key stakeholders within Finance, Operations and the wider Corporate functions to provide insightful financial information that will be used by the broader business including the UK Executive and Group Finance in the US.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will provide the successful candidate with insight into the insurance services sector as well as the opportunity to work in a private equity backed business with a history of significant organic and acquisitive growth. The role would be brought in a succession plan for the Group Financial Controller as the business goes through continued growth.Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To build new accounting and finance operational processes and practices, ensuring there are robust reconciliations between different systems and across the balance sheet.
  • Will be responsible for revenue recognition in line with US GAAP and UK GAAP, ensuring that WIP and Billed revenue is recorded accurately.
  • To own the month end accounting process, supporting the Group Financial Controller, to deliver month end on time and to the highest standard, as well as providing variance analysis to the FP&A team.
  • To oversee the intercompany process, improving the underlying process and ensuring intercompany differences are resolved in a timely manner.
  • To feed into the annual budget and forecasting process by providing insight into the detail and drivers of the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Manage a team of 4 Individuals, supporting with development.
Experience Needed:
  • An Accounting Qualification with Industry experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge under US GAAP
  • Have worked in a role that required improvement of the control framework
  • Experience of working in a strong financial control environment
  • Experience of building accounting and reconciliation processes
  • Management of a Transactional Finance team - AP/AR
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders globally
