The Client

Harmonic is delighted to be working with a newly founded renewable energy subsidiary of a major global energy group. This business is focused on the production and distribution of low-carbon and renewable hydrogen, with operations across the UK, and Europe. The UK division was established only a couple years ago and is already partnering with major industrial players to drive decarbonisation across the Energy sector.

With recent funding in the order of hundreds of millions, the company is scaling rapidly, operating across multiple SPVs, and is looking for a talented Finance Manager to take full ownership of finance operations and support strategic growth.

The Role

This is a newly created position reporting directly to the CFO. It offers the opportunity to work across high-value green infrastructure projects (some over £300m), managing SPVs, group-level reporting, and business partnering with project managers. You'll join a collaborative, driven team with a friendly, supportive culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial operations for both the parent company and associated SPVs.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, consolidations, and board packs.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate processing of POs, invoices, and adherence to the Delegation of Authority policy.
  • Business partner with project managers to ensure effective allocation of grant funding, reporting for audits and conduct variance analysis.
  • Ensure UK GAAP compliance and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Contribute to strategic financial planning alongside the CFO.
  • Cover administrative finance processes as needed (e.g. invoice and payment runs).
  • Support future process improvements and eventual team expansion.

Essential Experience

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with 4+ years' post-qualified experience.
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience working across multiple entities or SPVs.
  • Hands-on finance operator, happy to take ownership and work proactively.
  • Comfortable producing monthly accounts and reconciliations independently.

Desired Experience (non-essential)

  • Industry background in renewables, energy, or Oil & Gas.
  • Familiarity with grant funding or project finance.
  • Experience using Workday or similar finance systems.

Personal Attributes

  • Approachable, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
  • Hard-working and eager to contribute in a hands-on environment.
  • Comfortable working with large financial figures and high-growth projects.

Salary: Up to £75,000 + 8% bonus + excellent benefits (30 days holiday, enhanced pension, £3k annual training budget)

Location: Central London, Hybrid (minimum 2 days in-office)

Start Date: ASAP preferred; up to 3-month notice period considered
