Finance Manager | High-Growth Property Business | London (Hybrid)
The Client
Harmonic are excited to be working exclusively with a disruptive construction and property business whose success across the UK housing market has them looking to expand their finance department with a newly created Finance Manager role. Specialising in land acquisition and development, the company currently has a 40-person headcount and a turnover of £20m+, with ambitious plans for growth in the coming years.
With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable developments, the company has established long-term partnerships with housing associations, investors, and local authorities. The Role
This business operates in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Reporting into the number one in Finance, you will drive operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making as the business continues to scale. You will have the chance to shape and improve financial processes, investment decisions, and system implementation.
Further, you'll be a key bridge between finance and the wider business, ensuring financial insights translate into actionable strategies. Whether it's working with project teams to track costs, refining reporting for investors, or driving process improvements, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping how finance adds value across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Drive financial strategy and decision-making, working closely with senior leadership to support business growth.
- Support with budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to guide expansion and investment.
- Improve financial systems and processes, contributing to the redesign and implementation of Xero.
- Oversee financial operations, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day processes across the business.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, strengthening governance and internal controls.
- Support financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership and investors.
- Collaborate with project teams, tracking costs and aligning financial planning with business strategy.
- Manage financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile payroll and intercompany transactions, streamlining cash flow and reporting processes.
- Handle payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
What our client needs to see (required):
- Proven experience in a finance management or similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and management accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software (preferably Xero Certified).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
What we'd like to see (preferred):
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification
- Experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience improving financial systems and implementing process efficiencies.
- Prior involvement in governance and compliance frameworks.
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + benefits
Start Date: ASAP
