We are looking for solid accountant who have worked in Music distribution or merchandise to join a growing company as their first UK finance Manager to help scale them up from 0 to 7 million in 12 months.

Established in the US, they are building out the UK entity, with support from finance consultant and external accountants, the aim will be to set up systems, approve VAT and bring everything in house.

Opportunity to build this team so its an exciting time to join them scale up.

Working with some of the biggest artists in the industry including Dolly Parton, Deftones, Alice In Chains, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and more.

This position reports to the US Controller and assists in the accurate preparation of invoices, artist royalty statements, touring P&Ls and VAT returns and will be remote working till the end of the year.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage AR and AP functions, including reconciling bills against POs, issuing client invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of Bank and PayPal accounts
  • Track and tabulate expenses tying to tour settlements
  • Work closely with members of the touring department to close tours at their conclusion & create Tour P&Ls
  • Timely filing and payment of VAT returns (across multiple European countries as needed)
  • Monitor and pay tour reps for expense reports weekly
  • Work with US-based accounting team to process all ecommerce royalty statements related to UK business
  • Inventory Management within financial software
  • Assist with audits as needed
  • Track and order office supplies
  • Manage day-to-day financials for the property, including paying rent, utilities, logging expenses etc.

Requirements:

  • Accounting qualification or upwards of 5 years accounting experience
  • Tour or music industry related experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in excel
  • Ability to discern critical details from a range of data
  • Experience in XERO, NetSuite and/or other Oracle products a plus
  • Ability to learn new POS and network systems
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Desire to work in a creative environment
  • Willingness to own a crucial piece of the account operations
