Finance Manager Opportunity

I am looking for a fantastic Finance Manager to join my client a Primary school based in South London. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary range of £40,001 - £41,284 (pro-rata) for 36 hours per week, working 41 weeks per year (term time plus 2 weeks).

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will lead and manage the school’s finance and procurement functions, reporting to the Head of School and Executive Principal. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team on financial functions and risk management.
  • Develop and implement finance policies.
  • Manage finance staff and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Support the academy improvement plan.

Financial Planning & Resource Management

  • Oversee budget planning, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Analyse trends for efficiency improvements.
  • Generate new income streams and write bids.
  • Ensure value for money in financial management.
  • Conduct financial reporting and statutory procedures.
  • Manage payroll services and pension schemes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement and contracts.
  • Oversee income generation through premises management.
  • Organize school trips and curriculum activities.
  • Handle staff training and transport bookings.
  • Review and manage external services and lettings.
  • Advise on and manage insurance schemes.

General Duties

  • Uphold professional integrity and follow the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Promote equal opportunities and British values.
  • Observe Health and Safety rules.
  • Ensure data security compliance per GDPR regulations.

Schools experience is desirable, however if you do have an interest in joining a primary school and have relevant experience please do apply.
