We are supporting an Academy Trust in West London to recruit a Finance Manager. This role is paying £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus local government pension scheme and an attractive benefits package.

An Academy Trust in West London with a turnover of £8m and 120 staff. The main site is close to local tube and bus stations.

Finance Manager:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Line management of a finance officer.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly VAT return submissions.
  • Ensure Government returns are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prepare the payroll preparation documentation for onward submission to Academy's payroll bureau.
  • Act as the secondary contact for the annual audit of the Academy's accounts.
  • Work with auditors from the appointed auditing firm to ensure correct financial procedures are followed.
  • Liaise with the Heads of and various Local Authorities to ensure that due SEN funding is identified, invoiced, and received on a timely basis.
  • Manage and review monthly credit card reconciliations.

Finance Manager:

  • You will ideally hold a full CCAB or CGMA/CIMA qualification. Please note part qualified or finalist will also be considered.
  • At least 3 years experience working within the Academy Trust or School sector is critical.
  • Ability to prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Knowledge or previous oversight of payroll.
  • Previous experience of developing the annual budgeting process.
  • Previous experience supporting the external audit.
  • Knowledge of monthly bank reconciliations and VAT returns is critical.
  • Ideally you will have a good understanding of the Academy Trust Handbook.
  • Ability to deputise for the CFO where required.
  • People management experience would be desirable.
  • Use of PS Financial and HCSS systems would be desirable.

Finance Manager:

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum.
