The client are a global hospitality and catering business (luxury restaurant brand) that have multiple locations across the globe. The head office is based in the City of London (Liverpool Street) and they are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have prior experience doing a similar role, and they will have the chance to progress within this rapidly growing organisation.

Client Details

The head office in London manages the 10 different locations that the business has around the world and the finance team is currently made up of 7 people here in the UK. The role will report directly into the Financial Controller and the new Finance Manager will be tasked with running the day to day operations of the finance team. They will manage 4 direct reports and that number will grow as the company opens more global locations!

Description

The successful Finance Manager will:

  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and ensure that all appropriate reconciliations are performed monthly.
  • Manage the financial transactions across all entities i.e., P2P, Order to Cash, Payroll et.al., ensuring that all aspects are properly recorded, filed & reported.
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts, ensuring key timelines are met whilst maintaining accurate records of our books, across all entities / affiliated companies.
  • Reporting of the monthly management accounts vs. budget to key stakeholders.
  • Preparation of the quarterly VAT return for UK entities, making sure numbers are accurate and filed online to HMRC in a timely manner.
  • Reviews/approves account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Maintains an accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliation for all accounts across all sites.
  • Consulting with external advisors in provision of financial information necessary to prepare any HMRC or Companies House regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the statutory / year-end accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of the audit file and audit process, consulting with external auditors and advisors as and when required.
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation. Ensure all numbers are loaded correctly in QuickBooks.
  • Enhances internal controls on an ongoing basis, working with the Group Financial Controller to develop/implement policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Group Financial Controller & Finance Director to develop, document, and maintain internal controls within the finance department.
  • Maintain professional knowledge in financial accounting, management accounting and information technology and to communicate to staff and brief management.
  • Performs other ad-hoc finance-related duties as and when required by the Group Financial Controller/ Finance Director.
  • Managing and directing the work activities of the financial accountants, finance assistant(s), taking full responsibility for their on-going professional development.

Profile

The successful Finance Manager will:

  • Have 2-3 years working in a similar role within a similar sized team
  • Have prior experience as a Finance Manager/Controller within a restaurant / hospitality and catering business (highly desirable)
  • Prior working knowledge of the system Quickbooks
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • High attention to detail
