As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the overall financial management of the UK financial operations, while also working closely with our Paris HQ. This is a role that requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage both day-to-day accounting and long-term financial planning. You will play a key role in driving business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Michael Page are partnering with a Highly Successful International FMCG Brand that are growing in the UK. Our client are looking to recruit a Finance Manager based in Acton, London.

Description

As the Finance Manager based in Acton, London your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Strategy and Leadership:

o Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.

o Provide strategic recommendations to the Managing Director and senior management team on financial analysis and projections.

o Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.

o Advise on investment activities and risk management to ensure long-term financial stability.

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:

o Oversee the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.

o Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and audit requirements in the UK .

o Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and tax authorities to ensure smooth financial operations.

o Maintain a thorough understanding of international financial regulations and their impact on cross-border business.

  • Accounting and Operational Oversight:

o Manage the finance and accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

o Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.

o Implement and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.

o Ensure robust financial processes are in place, particularly in the implementation and management of D365 (Dynamics 365) accounting software.

  • Business Partnering and Analysis:

o Collaborate with various departments (sales, operations, HR, marketing) to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

o Conduct financial analyses to identify areas for cost savings, operational improvements, and revenue opportunities.

o Drive performance by developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business.

o Support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and product profitability evaluations.

  • Immersion and Collaboration with Paris Headquarters:

o Establish close collaboration with the finance team in Paris, ensuring alignment on financial policies, strategies, and reporting.

o Lead financial immersions in Paris with regular communication and updates on UK and international financial performance.

o Spend time with Paris-based financial leads, including Paris Head of Finance, to align on daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities, as well as gaining in-depth knowledge of D365.

Profile

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA Accountancy Qualification or Qualified by experience
  • Experience in a similar role highly desirable, FMCG, Retail experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong Excel and Accounting systems experience
  • This role will require some travel to locations in London
  • Strong financial management experience ideally in UK and European operations but not essential
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive business performance.
  • Ideally leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence business decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster cross-functional collaboration.
