An excellent opening has arisen at an acute NHS Trust for an experienced accountant to join the financial management team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role provides business partnering support to clinical directorates in all their monthly, annual and ad hoc financial performance and planning activities. It is responsible for the review of month end divisional positions, the completion of monthly forecasts and consolidation of a divisional monthly performance report, in consultation with the General Manager and the Head of Finance, and presenting these at Directorate meetings. They will support their division’s annual financial planning process and undertake costings of service developments and savings plans. The Finance Manager co-ordinates the workload and sets the objectives and priorities for their area, but routine monthly reporting and analysis tasks are delegated to the financial analysis team.
You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with experience of working within an acute NHS trust in a senior management accounting or financial management role. Owing to the broad range of contacts you will be liaising with, you will need first rate communication skills to be able to rapidly build effective working relationships. Additionally, you will require the ability to assimilate and analyse large amounts of data quickly and to this end, strong Excel skills and an eye for detail will be helpful.
