I am working with the market leader in the transportation space who are looking for a technically strong Finance Manager to join the team.

As a Finance Manager, you'll oversee and prepare management accounts, working at the heart of a dynamic finance team. You'll ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintain compliance with policies, and drive process improvements, while providing critical support to the wider Finance team and business stakeholders.

You will be responsible for managing a team of 3 Management Accountants, you will work closely with the team providing guidance to ensure successful achievement of the department's objectives.

Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Leading a team of 3 part-qualified management accountants, providing individual and team development plans, succession planning, performance reviews etc

Financial Management

  • Oversee P&L, preparing accurate periodic management accounts for review.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controlling team to ensure accurate recognition of costs and revenues
  • Liaise with HR, Payroll, and Pensions teams to ensure payroll costs are accurately captured and classified.
  • Raise and manage period-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring transaction accuracy

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing clear insights for Finance Business Partners.
  • Deliver periodic reporting on FTE, payroll, and other financial data, as required.
  • Create supplementary reports and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Stakeholder Support

  • Support the collation of non-financial information for management account submissions
  • Provide comprehensive finance support to Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and the broader Finance function.

Essentials:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA / ACA / CIMA
  • Proven team management skills
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
  • Gravitas with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • System Savvy
