Finance manager – Growing Restaurant Group  About The Company  A rapidly expanding restaurant group, renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences and innovative cuisine. As a growing company, they are now seeking a dynamic and experienced hands-on Finance Manager to oversee and enhance their financial operations, ensuring continued success in this competitive industry.  Role Overview  The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial health of the organisation, providing strategic guidance to support business growth while maintaining cost efficiency. This role involves working closely with the executive team and branch managers to ensure optimal financial performance across all locations.  This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who can work autonomously and would relish the challenge of being the first person in finance and setting up their internal finance function.  Key Responsibilities 
  • Invoice management: Daily input of all invoices into the correct accounts and raising intercompany invoices.
  • Banking and reconciliations: Perform monthly, weekly, and daily reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, cash, PDQ machines, and delivery platforms like Deliveroo.
  • Management accounts: Produce monthly accounts, including director loans and dividends, and extract data from Xero.
  • Balance sheet: Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Stock and pricing: Perform stock and price checks in the main warehouse.
  • VAT and tax: Prepare quarterly VAT returns (including adjustments for deposits and revenue) and manage PAYE/Corporation Tax in coordination with HMRC.
  • Audit preparation: Assist with the annual financial audit by providing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • General ledger: Manage the nominal ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Attend daily meetings with the group owner to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Hold monthly and bi-monthly meetings with the main accountant to review financial progress.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
  • Experience working in a busy finance team
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution.
Desirable
  • Experience working in the hospitality/restaurant/food and beverage industry
  • Experience of setting up an in-house finance function from scratch
