A leading Retail and Design business is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to take full responsibility for all day-to-day financial matters of the UK companies. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this role is based in the London office and offers flexible, hybrid working options after successful completion of the probationary period

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for all UK companies to strict deadlines.
  • Produce monthly group consolidated management accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow including weekly rolling cash forecasts.
  • Finalise weekly supplier payment runs.
  • Lead discussions with suppliers to increase credit terms in conjunction with the accounts payable staff.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet items, including maintenance of fixed asset registers.
  • Process any intercompany sales invoices.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for all UK entities.
  • Prepare monthly payroll data for submission to payroll bureau.
  • Calculate all staff bonus and commission payments.
  • Prepare year-end audit files.
  • Manage and develop finance team members.
  • Develop and refine processes to build efficiencies within the team and its outputs.
  • Assist in the development of KPIs to manage team and business performance.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Group Finance Director.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience ideally in a similar role.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, particularly during month-end.
  • Ability to prioritise work and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience using Business Central Dynamics 365 is preferred but not essential.
