- Oversee the day-to-day financial management of the Trust, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with academy leaders to monitor and report on performance against financial plans.
- Ensure adherence to the Academies Financial Handbook and ESFA guidelines, preparing accurate financial reports for the Board, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide financial advice to senior leadership teams, identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting the CFO in delivering long-term financial strategies.
- Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Strong experience in financial management, preferably within the education or public sector.
- Proven track record of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Excellent knowledge of financial systems, controls, and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or educational setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems used in the education sector.
