Role Overview:

  • Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow analysis.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain accurate budgets and financial projections across all areas of operations.
  • Manage and oversee the closing process at both month-end and year-end.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and ensure all necessary returns are completed annually.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to manage and optimise budgetary allocations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring compliance with audit timelines and requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive financial analysis and actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Generate ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Analyse revenue sources and market trends to guide pricing models and promotional activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure Finance plays an active role in business strategy.
  • Track financial performance against set budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and IFRS, delivering timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Lead and guide a small finance team to ensure high standards of financial reporting, robust controls, and accurate processing, while fostering a cooperative and efficient team culture.
  • Identify and drive improvements in financial systems and processes for greater efficiency.
  • Support the optimisation of financial software and technological tools.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management Team and other departments to meet departmental objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in management accounting, ideally within the hospitality sector.
  • In-depth understanding of revenue generation models and pricing strategies in the hospitality industry.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain financial control procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and reviewing budgets and forecasts.
  • Proficient in cost management and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Skilled in preparing detailed financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow documents.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, including complex formulae, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
