Finance Manager | Institute of Biomedical Science | Permanent | £50k
The Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) is excited to be recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to join its small, smooth-running finance function following a retirement in the team. There will be a detailed and thorough handover period. IBMS is currently replacing its CRM and Finance System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Head of Finance by running the day-to-day operation of the finance function so that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare accounts to Trial Balance, complete the year-end audit pack and respond to audit enquiries.
- Manage internal financial controls
- Work with an outsourced payroll provider
- Supervise the Finance Officer
- Handle ad hoc finance enquires, both internal and external
- Manage all funds held on deposit and in current accounts.
Person Specification:
- An experienced Accountant with AAT or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA equivalent (QBE)
- At least five years' experience in a management accounting role involving performance analysis, detailed P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of accounts to Trial Balance
- Excellent bookkeeping skills with a thorough understanding of all aspects of double-entry
- Intermediate Excel knowledge (vlookups and pivot tables)
- Able to identify and implement effective improvements in processes and procedures
- "Can-do" and "right first time" attitude
- Someone who enjoys paying attention to detail and who is able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
