- Owning the month-end process and ensuring adherence to deadlines
- Reviewing all P&L entries for accuracy and completeness
- Owning balance sheet reconciliations and preparing MI packs, including commentary and variance analysis
- Coaching and developing the Accounts Payable Assistant and reviewing trade creditor balances
- Assisting with the annual budget process, periodic re-forecasts, and overseeing business risks and opportunities
- Acting as the first point of contact for external auditors and preparing quarterly UK VAT returns
- Reviewing and improving finance systems, supporting Netsuite development, and partnering across the business to improve processes
- Qualified accountant, either ACA or ACCA/CIMA with demonstrable relevant experience
- Previous experience in a consumer SME (preferably e-commerce) – preferred but not essential
- Significant financial systems experience including Netsuite
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate within a team environment
- Ability to challenge teams on existing processes and provide innovative solutions to enhance efficiency
