Our client is a truly global SaaS / Technology organisation who boast partnerships with many FTSE100 / Fortune500 listed companies, operating in the high-profile Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) space. The company is going through a period of evolution and having recently received significant PE funding, a talented Assistant Finance Manager is sought to join the team.
This is a role for someone who’s looking for a challenging, broad-based position where they can help shape the finance function from an early-stage investment point. The business has a very flexible working policy, with only 1/2 days expected in their beautiful Central London offices.
?The Role:-
In this role, you will take charge of key finance processes, with a focus on managing the month-end and year-end for the global consolidated group. You will be responsible for driving system improvements, and inputting on global finance projects as the client creates a future-fit finance function in a fast-growth business. This role demands a combination of strategic insight, technical proficiency, and hands-on execution to deliver impactful change across the business.

Key Responsibilities:-
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee all financial operations, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to support business growth.
Technical Accounting & Compliance:
- Ensure strong technical accounting controls and adherence to IFRS and UK GAAP standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit processes effectively.
- Consolidate all subsidiaries worldwide and work with global accounting and tax partners to monitor compliance around the world.
- Stay updated on financial regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Process Improvement & Systems Management:
- Drive system improvements and automation to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to optimize operations.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining financial workflows and enhancing data accuracy.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and coach junior finance team members, providing training and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance finance team culture.
- Support cross-functional teams by providing financial insights and guidance.
Tax & Payroll Management:
- Oversee global payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage corporate tax filings, VAT returns, and other tax obligations alongside contributing to tax projects.
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimize tax planning strategies.
- Ensure payroll systems and processes are efficient and align with company policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:-
- ACA/ACCA qualified, with training ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 audit firm and strong technical accounting expertise. Candidates with a strong technical background from within Industry could also be considered.
- 1-2+ years’ experience in a fast growing SME business, PE backed or Technology environments would be preferred but not required.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
- Experience in managing and coaching junior team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Certinia, Salesforce and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
