We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager - Environment to provide expert financial support to this vital service.
The RoleAs Finance Manager - Environment, you will play a key role in providing financial oversight and commercial expertise to support the council's Environment service. Your main responsibilities will include:

Acting as a financial business partner, providing technical financial advice, briefing papers, and training to various stakeholders.

Offering financial and commercial insights on high-profile projects, programmes, and capital initiatives.

Supporting the closure of accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciling balance sheets, and managing reserves and accruals.

Assisting service and budget managers in budget planning and monthly financial monitoring.

Conducting financial analysis and reviewing key commercial documents such as project agreements, payment mechanisms, and procurement tenders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A full CCAB/CIMA (or overseas equivalent) qualification with significant financial management experience.

A strong understanding of financial challenges within local government.

Advanced Excel skills and expertise in financial modelling and data analysis.

Experience in strategic financial planning and budget setting.

Strong communication and business partnering skills, with a commitment to equality and diversity.
