Michael Page are partnering with a leading UK based services supplier to recruit for a Finance Manager to join the team in the Merton / Colliers Wood area. Our client are experiencing an impressive level of growth, they have an office in Barcelona and have exciting expansion plans across Europe.

Description

Reporting directly to the CEO & Managing Director, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the financial health of the company. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Manage the company's day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision making and business planning.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency and profitability.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends, and communicate implications to management.

Profile

  • Proven experience in a similar finance role, preferably within an SME environment.
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred but Qualified by experience also considered
  • Understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Xero is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
