DK Recruitment are partnering with a dynamic and ambitious Multi-Academy Trust committed to providing outstanding education and opportunities for all students. With over 30 academies across the trust, they are dedicated to fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join the finance team, taking ownership of two academies within the trust. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring the school's financial operations run smoothly while contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial management of the Trust, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reconciliations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with academy leaders to monitor and report on performance against financial plans.
  • Ensure adherence to the Academies Financial Handbook and ESFA guidelines, preparing accurate financial reports for the Board, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide financial advice to senior leadership teams, identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting the CFO in delivering long-term financial strategies.
  • Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring efficient and effective operations.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Essential:
  • Strong experience in financial management, preferably within the education or public sector.
  • Proven track record of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial systems, controls, and reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Desirable:
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within a Multi-Academy Trust or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems used in the education sector.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
