A well-established family-owned investment firm is looking for a Finance Manager to provide comprehensive accounting, financial and administrative support to the small and close-knit team.

Based in West London offices, with flexible working hours, this pivotal role requires a combination of technical expertise and adaptability, with an opportunity to work closely with the family members.

The ideal candidate will take full responsibility for each of the corporate entities within the group and also the personal tax affairs of the family members.

Responsibilities include

  • Book-keeping and data entry through to the production of Quarterly Management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecast
  • Quarterly VAT returns for two companies and the LLP
  • Running monthly payroll, pension contributions, P60s, P45setc. Maintaining HR files employment contracts, holiday records etc
  • Property: credit control, maintenance of all records in relation to each property - including fixed asset register, deposits, rent increases, dilapidations, freehold management, insurance
  • Cashflow management for each entity and liaison with banks
  • Maintenance of company filings with Companies House
  • Pension fund: monthly payments, record keeping, correspondence with pensioners, completion of annual returns, regulatory filing, liaison with fund actuary, be appointed as the Fund’s Administrative Secretary
  • Personal accounts of family members - basic tax planning, preparation of annual tax returns, AML requests.
  • Identifying and implementing new processes as well as automating data gathering and accounting processes where applicable

Candidate specification

  • Financial accountant, with 5+ years’ commercial experience in the UK. A professional qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) would be an advantage
  • Good administrative and project management skills are important
  • A flexible mindset with an ability to take the initiative when required
  • Good knowledge of Xero and excel essential
