Transactional Finance Manager

Advertising Services | Central London | Hybrid, 2 days working from home | 55 - 65k

An award-winning, highly reputable advertising agency are hiring for a Finance Manager to manage a AP department on a 6 month contract with strong potential to become a permanent addition to the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a fun, dynamic team of 6 and implement ideas to streamline processes whilst having responsibility over a MA pack.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing month end process; ensuring accuracy and that deadlines are met
  • Managing the Purchase Ledger and Client Finance function of the business; Responsible for all team members and the work they produce (WIP, PL, Debtors, payment runs, holiday approval). Regular review meetings on each area to ensure that work is happening to the required standard
  • Implementing & Monitoring KPI’s across the team
  • Training and developing team members. Develop an annual Strategy that tracks progress
  • Regularly reviewing team capacity and updating finance recharges across the group to support workload
  • Managing the close process for all group companies
  • Continuously look to improve reporting for the agency (KPI’s which can support the business and our understanding)
  • Approval of expense and supplier payments and ensuring that there are adequate funds in the correct currency before making payments
  • Regularly reviewing the bank balance to ensure that bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
  • Management Accounts for a group company - full ownership of P&L, balance sheet and reporting

The Person - Key Needs:

  • Previous experience in a similar role at the Finance Manager or Financial Controller level
  • Organised, structured, but confident and energetic with an ability to communicate well with senior members of staff
  • Excellent attention to detail, providing accurate, detailed work
  • An ability to mentor and set expectations to junior members of staff with different ways of working/personalities
  • Keen interest in creating improvements to the reporting process
  • Collaborative team player
  • Previous experience managing a team is essential
  • Immediately available or available to start within 1-2 weeks
