Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing organisation in Central London, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transaction Manager to oversee both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This pivotal role will manage the end-to-end transaction processes for several remote divisions, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing AP and AR functions in a fast-paced environment, alongside the ability to drive process improvements and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Reporting into the Transactions Director, the Transactions Manager is responsible for the delivery of the transactions, management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and Employee Expenses. This role will also own various Treasury procedures and work with the finance and technology teams to ensure any necessary enhancements to reports, processes and policies. This role offers significant exposure to senior management and provides opportunities for growth within a supportive, dynamic company culture. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of transactions.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a proactive manner.
  • Develop and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance transaction efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of AP and AR balances, including preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, legal, and treasury teams, to streamline processes and ensure smooth transaction flows.
  • Manage cash flow forecasts and assist with working capital management, identifying any discrepancies or concerns that may impact liquidity.
  • Handle escalated issues related to AP and AR, including disputes, payment delays, and complex customer/vendor queries.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members, ensuring the development of skills and maintaining high-performance standards.
  • Ownership of the banking and treasury management function.
  • Oversight for loan repayments, adherence with facility agreement terms and covenant compliance
  • Cashflow forecasting and reporting support and working with wider finance teams for cash movement within the group.
  • Ownership of the employee expenses management function and supporting management and control of expense policies
  • Project management for supporting the creating of robust transactions process

We are looking to identify an individual with at least 5 years of experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ideally within a corporate or multi legal entity setting. This will be coupled with strong understanding of accounting principles, transaction management, and financial reporting and proven track record in team leadership and driving operational efficiencies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are required with the ability to build strong relationships across the business. Candidates will also be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with experience with accounting software and ERP systems. US exposure or experience is also desirable.
