VisionFR is working with a Global Luxury Design Agency with offices in NY and London to find the perfect contractpart-time Finance Transformation Manager, initially on a 6 month contract. The right person will be highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance and drive financial planning and analysis. The Finance function is moving from Canada to London and this person will be key in setting up the processes and systems and the way of working - reporting into and working closely with the Commercial Director. The part-time Finance Manager will be a key contributor to the agencies continued success, the role could go permanent but currently we are working on the basis that the on going role maybe more junior.
The role of the Finance Transformation Manager
The Finance Manager will be responsible for implementing & then overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including financial planning and analysis, reporting, treasury management, risk mitigation, tax compliance, and financial operations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimise financial processes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The candidate will be nibble and quick to react, being a people person and able to liaise with and authority but be honest and thourough.
Key Responsibilities of theContract part-time Finance Transformation Manager
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and oversee the company’s financial planning processes, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyse financial performance and variances against budgets and forecasts to provide strategic insights.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and manage external audits.
- Liaise with auditors, including government auditors for payroll ( US) , HMRC, and other compliance matters.
Treasury Management
- Formulate and manage cash flow and liquidity reporting to ensure the organisation meets financial obligations.
- Oversee banking relationships and negotiate terms with financial institutions.
Risk Management
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Establish approval protocols, including payment approvals and purchase order reviews for amounts over £5,000.
Financial Operations
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Monitor financial transactions to detect and prevent fraud or errors.
- Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Manage finance functions was NetSuite but migrating to a new finance system, including system optimisation and data dependencies.
Tax Planning and Compliance
- Develop tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with tax laws and regulations within each region.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including Corporation tax, sales tax, VAT, and payroll tax.
- Manage transfer pricing compliance and reporting.
Team Management
- Lead and develop a small finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management. Currently a Book keeper in Canada - this role can migrate to the UK.
- Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for accounting team members.
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee payroll, employee salary, and expense management.
- Manage invoicing for sales orders, quarterly commission reports, and partnership sales reports.
- Confirm receipt and reporting of client payments, assigning payments correctly
- Approve quotations and generate sales invoices.
- Ensure timely payments of client invoices and supplier payments, managing payment priorities.
- Maintain and update sales deposits and open invoices for tracking payments and collections.
- Provide statements of accounts per client requests.
- Manage financial systems, bank logins, and ownership of the handover to the UK
- Develop and refine finance process flows, ensuring clarity in system interactions and data dependencies.
Qualifications & Skills of theContractpart-time Finance Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; ACA, CIMA or ACCA fully qualified preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in luxury interiors, design or Creative agency environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in financial systems, including NetSuite and other ERP tools.
- Experience managing audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ant KPI reporting
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
