Your new companyMy client, a leading international bank in the heart of London, is looking for a Relationship Manager to join the Financial Institutions department sitting within the front line of defence. This international bank has an established London presence for over 50 years. You will be joining a close-knit and supportive department and will work closely with other departments.Your new roleMy client is looking for an experienced and skilled Relationship Manager (Financial Institutions) who has extensive experience within the UK market maintaining and expanding client relationships and managing Treasury accounts. Specific day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Market to potential clients, maintain relationships with existing clients, and promote the products and services offered.
  • Oversee and monitor Treasury accounts, including ongoing KYC and due diligence for clients, counterparts, and vendors, while maintaining records of communications, meetings, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Finance and Product Management, to optimise the funding book by reducing costs, improving duration mix, and ensuring consistent flow, all while considering the overall liquidity and funding needs.
  • Develop and maintain effective sales plans for short, medium, and long-term goals to support the Wholesale Funding strategy and targets, regularly reviewing progress and focusing on retention and new business acquisitions.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of ALCO meetings by coordinating schedules, preparing agendas, documentation packs, and minutes, and following up on action points, contributing to effective governance and decision-making processes.
  • Lead wholesale funding meetings and actively participate in related subcommittees and working groups, including the Product and Pricing Development Group (PPDG), providing accurate and up-to-date information on the funding book to align wholesale funding with broader commercial and risk objectives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic partners, delivering exceptional service, demonstrating the bank's values, and promoting loyalty.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Treasury operations, including cash monitoring, foreign exchange (FX), Sukuk, and derivatives, supporting Front Office activities as needed.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the organisation, ensuring effective and collaborative partnerships to achieve strategic objectives

What you'll need to succeedMy client is looking for someone who has at least 5 years UK experience, specifically managing and developing relationships with financial institutions and has treasury experience. They are looking for someone who possesses a good understanding of a variety of commercial banking products.
