Cedar is currently partnered with private equity backed technology and infrastructure business to secure an Interim Financial Reporting Specialist. The role is a 6-9 month contract, paying a day rate between £800-1,000 per day (Umbrella).

The Role

As Interim Financial Reporting Specialist, you will take the lead in providing expert technical accounting support, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Play a key role in the preparation of year-end Group statutory accounts and coordinate the external audit process.

  • Provide strategic technical accounting advice on major transactions, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and acquisition-related matters.
  • Support business combinations by preparing opening balance sheets, handling purchase accounting, tracking transaction costs, and managing purchase price adjustments.
  • Contribute to special initiatives, such as audits and corporate activities, requiring in-depth technical accounting expertise.
  • Draft technical accounting papers for presentation to management and auditors, focusing on significant transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of Group and company financial statements, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards, company law, and PE-reporting guidelines.
  • Analyse complex financial reporting issues and evaluate the impact of transactions on financial statements.
  • Manage the accounting policy manual, ensuring it is consistently updated and changes are properly documented.
  • Simplify and communicate complex financial concepts to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/CA).
  • Previous experience within a technical reporting role within a Group environment.
  • Previous experience within a technical reporting role within an acquisitive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • Prior experience in an interim / contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • The rate of £800-1,000 per day represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
