As they embark on this exciting journey, they are seeking a skilled finance professional to be their first finance hire, supporting the entrepreneurial founders in establishing a robust financial function.

As the first finance hire, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the company. This role is all-encompassing, and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the founders in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy:

    • Collaborate with the founders to define and execute the financial strategy of the company.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Operations:

    • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions.
    • Implement efficient and scalable financial processes and systems.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the development of annual budgets and forecasts in alignment with business goals.
    • Monitor and report on budget variances, providing actionable insights.
  • Cash Management:

    • Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the financial health of the company.
    • Implement strategies to optimize working capital.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
    • Present financial reports to the leadership team, highlighting key performance indicators.
  • Fundraising Support:

    • Collaborate with the founders on fundraising activities, providing financial data and analysis for investor presentations.

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
    • Proven experience in finance roles, preferably in a startup environment.
    • Familiarity with financial management in a growth-oriented environment.
