Fractional CFO | Ethical FinTech Start-Up | 2-3 days per week

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with an Innovative and ethically focussed FinTech Start-up who have experienced significant growth over the past few years. They are looking for someone to join their 50 person team on a 2-3 day per week basis for an initial 6-month basis, with the likelihood the contract is extended thereafter. Having diversified their product offering, they are looking for an experienced CFO with a background working in financial services or scaling Fintech's.

The Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned CFO who has the ability to not only manage their established finance function, but also have a in depth knowledge of the complex compliance that comes with working in the financial services sector. Working directly with the CEO & CSO, the ideal candidate would have a innate ability to translate financial concepts to non-finance professionals and provide their insight into commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the current finance team to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Suggest improvements to current financial processes & procedure.
  • Working with the Head of Finance on Statutory Reporting.
  • Taking lead on the audit.
  • Deliver the new employee share incentive.
  • Signoff the 2025 budget
  • Provide MOT on company financial health and look into ways to reduce costs.
  • VAT project.
  • Ad-hoc project-based work.

Essential Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
  • Excellent written and Verbal communication skills.
  • Previously worked in an early-stage Start-Up
  • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and get hands on within the Start-Up.
  • Recent experience as an FD/CFO in the FinTech or Financial Services space.

Day Rate: £650-£800/day (Outside IR35)

Location: East London, 2-3 days per week in the office
