Fractional Finance Director | InsurTech Start-Up | 2 days per month

Harmonic are working with an exciting and well-funded InsurTech Start-Up to find them a Fractional Finance Director who will support the CEO as they prepare to Scale the business. This is likely to be an initial 6-month engagement, with the potential for it becoming a longer-term position, with an increasing number of days in the future.

The Client

Our client has created an innovative Insurance/SaaS platform which uses data analysis to find innovative solutions and offer insurance cover to those who were previously exposed to significant financial losses. They are backed by elite VC's & international agencies and have already signed significant contracts with some of the largest insurance brokers in the UK.

Currently with a team size of 10, our client will be looking to expand over the next 6-12 months after closing a significant round of funding earlier this year. This position will be 2 days per month, ideally from their central London office, and work directly with the CEO, executive team, & investors.

The Role

This role will be centred around building financial models, forecasting, budgeting, providing shareholder reports, & pitch decks for future fundraising. As a SaaS company, the best suited candidates will have experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director in SaaS or InsurTech business, and have a solid understanding of the key metrics/KPI's.

Responsibilities

  • Build a Financial Model for the business.
  • Liaise with current internal stakeholders and executive team to develop a budgeting and forecasting model.
  • Assist the CEO during current & future fundraising rounds.
  • Develop an insightful KPI dashboard.
  • Produce pitch decks for future fundraising rounds.
  • Support CEO with Ad-Hoc Projects
  • Play a key role in strategic decision making and be required to work on a range of both commercial and financial projects.

Essential Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Strong level of communication both written and verbal
  • Excellent Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and get hands on within the Start-Up.
  • Previous experience in a senior role within an SME

Bonus Experience

  • Previous experience as a CFO/FD in SaaS or InsurTech.
  • Previous experience as a financial controller, head of finance, or finance director.

Day Rate: £550-700/day (Outside IR35)

Location: Central London (Liverpool Street)

Start Date: January 2025

Contract Length: 6-12 months
