Fractional Head of Finance | Manufacturing Scale-up | 2-3 days per month

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working with an international manufacturing scale-up to find them a Fractional Financial Controller / Head of Finance who will support the CEO as they look to better understand the company's finances and enhance growth plans. This is likely to be an initial 6-month engagement, with the potential for this to become an ongoing engagement with increased number of days.

Our client manufactures essential equipment used widely in TV & Film production, and have scaled globally with operation in the UK, Europe, & the US. They have grown organically and have continued to innovate and refine their products, seen as a market leader in their specialism.

This position will be 2-3 days per month, largely remote with the occasional travel to London for board meetings. This position will report directly with the CEO, with exposure to rest of the executive team and creative directors.

The Role

This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the financial operations, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date. They are also looking for further input and interpretation on the finance strategy of the business moving forwards. This role will require a technically strong and very hands on finance professional, who doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves. They will also need to commercial acumen and an ability to translate finance concepts to non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Financial reporting.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Liaise with current internal stakeholders and executive team to develop a budgeting and forecasting model.
  • Support CEO with Ad-Hoc Projects
  • Play a key role in strategic decision making and be required to work on a range of both commercial and financial projects.

Essential Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Strong level of communication both written and verbal
  • Excellent Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and get hands on within the Start-Up.
  • Previous experience in a senior role within an SME.

Bonus Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and/or rentals business.
  • Previous experience as a financial controller, head of finance, or finance director.

Day Rate: £450-500/day Outside IR35 (TBC)

Location: Remote (Occasional visits to London office for meetings)
