Group Finance Manager

A leading European industrial real estate developer and asset manager is seeking a Group Finance Manager. The company has a strong reputation for delivering innovative industrial and logistics developments known for sustainability and operational excellence that maximise value for its investors and occupiers.

This position requires an individual with a strong financial background, excellent analytical skills, and experience in the real estate sector. You will be responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring financial reporting and compliance, managing budgets, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.

    • Consolidate group financial reports, including subsidiary accounts, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, coordinating with different departments to ensure accurate forecasting.

    • Prepare and monitor rolling forecasts, providing variance analysis against budget and actuals.

  • Cash Flow Management:

    • Oversee group cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and projects.

  • Strategic Financial Planning:

    • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth and decision-making processes.

  • Compliance & Audit:

    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and liaise with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and the resolution of any issues.

  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department, identifying opportunities for process enhancements.

  • Tax Planning & Compliance:

    • Support tax planning, VAT compliance, and corporate tax filings, working with external advisors where necessary.

  • Investment Appraisal & Project Financing:

    • Work with the development teams to assess financing options for real estate projects.

Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.

  • Proven experience in a finance role, within the real estate sector.

  • Strong technical accounting skills, with knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.

  • Excellent understanding of real estate financing and tax structures.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software (e.g., Sage, Yardi, or similar).

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in real estate development projects and acquisition accounting.

  • Familiarity with debt financing and loan management for real estate ventures.

  • Knowledge of UK real estate market dynamics and property law.

  • Previous experience working with REITs or other real estate investment structures would be advantageous.
