Our client, a reputable international bank located in the heart of City of London, is looking for a Head of Credit. The bank offers diverse financial services in the areas of corporate finance, trade finance, derivatives, securities investment and treasury.

[Main purpose of the job]

(1) Establish appropriate credit policies, internal credit approval procedures and credit quality control monitoring.

(2) Approve, in conjunction with General Manager, all extensions of credit.

(3) Manage the Credit Department, the main functions of which are to; Analyse all credit applications for approval/rejection; Administer all credit limits and report any excesses to Management.

(4) Act as a voting member of the Risk Committee and the Credit Committee.

(5) Report to the Risk Committee on all aspects of Credit Management and the bank’s risk portfolio.

(6) Supervise and ensure departmental staff are adequately trained to perform their functions.

[Key Responsibilities]

(1) Approve all extensions of credit as required by the Credit Policies and Procedures (P&P), either independently, in conjunction with the General Manager or, when appropriate, as a member of the Credit Committee.

(2) Ensure the requirements of the Credit P&P are implemented.

(3) Manage the staff and functions of the Credit Department.

(4) Ensure the bank’s risk portfolio is controlled by appropriate limits covering the one-obligor concept as well as geographical and industrial risks.

(5) Undertake credit reviews as appropriate.

(6) Keep under continuous review all pre-approved or other limits for appropriateness in the light of developments in the credit standing of our obligors.

(7) Keep under review the Credit P&P for recommendations to the Risk Committee on updating or improvements.

(8) Report to the Risk Committee each month on all relevant aspects of credit management and the bank’s risk portfolio both verbally and in written form.

(9) Be aware at all times of all matters that might give rise to credit quality declines of obligors or countries.

(10) Discuss with appropriate staff all aspects of each item of credit exposure.

(11) Liaise with Head of Middle Office to ensure that new/amended Head Office regulations, which bear relevance to the Credit Department, are implemented.

(12) Act as back-up to Credit Analysts and/or Credit Administration Officer as necessary

[Requirements](1) Minimum 5 years’ experience in Credit Analysis within UK financial industry

(2) Aviation and ship project finance experience preferred. With the ability to analyse and assess credit risks specific to these sectors.

(3) Strong understanding of financial analysis, Credit structuring, and risk assessment methodologies.

(4) Familiarity with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

(5) Proficiency in using financial modelling tools and credit rating systems.

(6) Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills.

(7) Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

(8) Team management experience with ability to guide and support team members.

(9) High attention to details and accuracy in credit assessments and reporting.

(10) Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders across different cultural and professional backgrounds.

(11) Any Korean language skill is an advantage but not essential

[Conditions](1) Location: City of London (Bank area)

(2) Working hours: 8:30am~4:30pm

(3) Annual leave: 23 working days in the first full calendar year and thereafter increased by one day per year into maximum of 28 working days (excluding 8 Bank/Public Holidays)

(4) Basic salary: fully negotiable depending on experience
