Head of Finance | Leading Hospitality Scale-up | London (Remote-first)

The Client

Harmonic is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a rapidly scaling multi-site group revolutionising the wellness industry. Since its inception in 2020, our client has quickly established a foothold across prestigious European cities delivering premium wellness experiences. Backed by family office investors, they specialise in managing and scaling operations for high-end 5-star hotel groups.

As they continue their impressive growth trajectory, they now seek a highly capable and proactive Head of Finance to lead financial operations and strategic initiatives across the group.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to build and own the finance function from the ground up, reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with senior leadership and international stakeholders. This role offers significant strategic exposure, autonomy, and the potential to evolve into a CFO position as the company scales.

Initially hands-on and transactional, this position requires an individual comfortable operating across the full spectrum of financial activities, from daily operations and business partnering to strategic planning and M&A support. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, nimble and very personable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting, including multi-entity P&Ls, cash flow, balance sheets, and KPI dashboards.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash management across multiple locations and corporate entities.
  • Lead period-end close processes.
  • Identify margin improvement and cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
  • Support M&A activities, including preliminary due diligence and financial integration.
  • Implement robust financial controls, systems, and compliance processes internationally.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations: AP/AR, procurement oversight, payroll coordination, tax filings, and internal/external reconciliations.
  • Collaborate closely with site group CFOs, GMs, external partners, auditors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Eventually build and mentor an internal finance team.

Essential Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in senior finance roles (Head of Finance, Controller, Senior Finance Manager), within multi-site operations.
  • Exceptional technical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Strong operational finance background; ability to manage complex international financial structures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
  • Proactive and autonomous with a willingness to be hands-on.
  • Experience managing internal/external reporting systems and processes.

Desired Experience (non-essential)

  • Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Experience in acquisitions and integration.
  • Exposure to hospitality, wellness, or high-end retail sectors.
  • International experience across multiple jurisdictions.

Personal Attributes

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, wears many hats and excels working in fast-paced, start-up environments
  • Strong communicator, able to clearly convey financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • Tech-savvy with a drive for implementing streamlined systems and processes.

Salary: Up to £100,000 + potential bonus + equity consideration post-probation

Location: Remote-first, London co-working space optionally.

Start Date: Immediate or up to a 2-month notice period.
