Head of Finance

A prestigious client in the banking sector is actively seeking a Head of Finance to spearhead their financial operations. This executive role is critical for ensuring the bank’s financial integrity, guiding strategic financial planning, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the bank’s financial future and contributing to its overall strategy.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Implement and execute the bank’s financial strategy, aligning with corporate goals and providing key insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to enhance business growth and profitability, managing the bank’s capital and financial risk profile.
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term plans, conducting in-depth financial reviews and analyses.
  • Ensure adherence to UK banking regulations, delivering precise financial reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Manage daily financial operations, enforce robust internal controls, and oversee the bank’s financial position.
  • Work closely with the Risk department to identify and mitigate financial risks, upholding stringent risk governance frameworks.
  • Communicate the bank’s financial status and projections to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Cultivate a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of responsibility, innovation, and teamwork.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA) or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in senior finance roles within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK financial regulations, IFRS, and other pertinent financial standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, planning, and analysis within a regulated framework.
  • Proficient in financial modelling, analysis, and risk management.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, capable of influencing at the highest levels.
  • In-depth understanding of capital markets, liquidity management, and financial instruments.
  • Unwavering commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
