A dynamic, fast-growing business looking for an entrepreneurial and adaptable Head of Finance, to oversee the day to day running of the finance function. The successful applicant will also oversee the IT, HR, and Operations function. This is a high-impact role suited to a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can wear multiple hats across different business functions. You will be responsible for overseeing the transaction finance side of the business and leading a small, agile team to ensure financial processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with the company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Hire, mentor, and develop a small team to support the Finance, IT, HR, and operations functions. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture across departments.
  • Financial Accounting & Reporting: Lead the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Work closely with the sales and marketing team and senior leadership to provide financial insights, drive strategic decision-making, and support business initiatives. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure alignment between financial goals and sales performance.
  • Commercial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis to senior leadership, delivering data-driven recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting: Drive the annual budgeting process, create financial forecasts, and work closely with departments to manage and monitor financial performance.
  • Cost & Margin Analysis: Analyse cost structures and profit margins, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Finance Operations: Oversee day-to-day transaction finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, providing financial expertise to support business initiatives, strategy development, and performance improvement across all functions.
  • IT & HR Oversight: Work with IT to ensure the company's systems are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with HR to ensure the business attracts, develops, and retains top talent while driving employee engagement and performance.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a growing or entrepreneurial business.
  • Strong expertise in financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of cost control, margin analysis, and business performance metrics.
  • Experience in leading small teams and building cross-functional relationships, especially with IT and HR functions.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide actionable insights to the senior leadership team.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software).
