Head of Finance - 12 Month FTC - Central Government
Cedar Recruitment are currently working with a government department that play a critical role in supporting effective decision-making across the UK government and the wider public sector.
This is an exciting time to join the department as the Head of Finance, as they set out their five-year strategy, focus on financial transformation, and prepare for the transition to a new finance system. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead financial management within an arm's-length body (ALB) of central government.
As Head of Finance, you will report to and support the Director of Finance and Operations. You will be responsible for leading the Finance team through a period of significant change, including the implementation of a new finance system and managing key financial processes. This role will allow you to leverage your technical expertise in financial accounting, reporting, and stewardship, whilst also providing leadership in a dynamic, government-focused organisation.
This role will require you on site 3 days per week in the City of London with 2 days working from home and the salary on offer is £65,000-75,000 per annum.
To be considered you will require significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, ideally within the government or public sector. You will need to have a proven track record in leading finance system transitions, leading teams and will require a thorough understanding of managing audit processes and external relationships with other government departments.
