Are you ready to lead and innovate within the finance department of a leading London-based Academy? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to oversee and enhance the financial operations, ensuring robust financial management and strategic growth.

What You’ll Do:

As the Head of Finance, you will be instrumental in steering the financial direction of the Academy.

Your role will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of their accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll.
  • Developing and implementing financial systems and processes, driving continuous improvement.
  • Crafting a 3-year financial plan in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Financial Controller.
  • Supporting the Trust’s growth strategy, ensuring financial due diligence as schools join the Trust.
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of annual budget plans, providing training and support to non-financial staff, and promoting financial literacy across the Trust.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of governance and risk management.
Who We're Looking For:
  • A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the Education or Charities sector.
  • Skilled in budgeting, monitoring, and financial analysis with a proven track record in a public sector environment.
  • A strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and influencing decision-making at all levels.
  • Proficient in managing high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
