Job Overview:As the Finance Manager, you will oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Your role is pivotal in budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations-all while driving profitability across our retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support business growth.
- Monitor financial performance and provide insightful analysis to senior management.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
- Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with UK accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, VAT, and other statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams to manage costs and enhance financial efficiency.
- Liaise with external accountants and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Identify risks and opportunities within the business, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Support the implementation of financial systems and processes for enhanced reporting and operational effectiveness.
- Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity within the retail or e-commerce sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of financial reporting, UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial modelling.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate financial insights into strategic business decisions.
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Leadership: Strong team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop finance professionals.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving approach.
