This close-knit charitable organisation is currently seeking a Head of Finance to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the COO, you will have critical oversight of the day to day running of the finance function, driving best practice across all areas and enhancing working efficiencies so finance can have the maximum impact across the entire organisation’s operations.

They key duties of this Head of Finance role are as follows:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring effective performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the finance function, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, and compliance.
  • Advise senior leadership and trustees on financial implications of organisational strategies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the Senior Leadership Team and Finance Committee.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning cycles, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Manage external audits and ensure compliance with statutory and Charity Commission requirements.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to optimise organisational spending.
  • Support financial modelling for bids and contracts, ensuring accurate pricing and due diligence.

The key criteria are as follows:

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent, with ongoing professional development.

  • Ability to lead and develop a finance team while fostering a culture of inclusion and high performance.
  • Experience in cost-saving, financial modelling, and managing financial risks.
  • Strong skills in explaining financial information to non-specialists and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Charity Commission regulations, FRS 102 SORP, and financial compliance in the sector.
