Head of Finance Systems – Financial Services – Up to £130k – City of London - HybridOverview:We are currently partnered with one of the world’s leading financial institutions who are seeking an experienced Head of Finance Systems to lead the strategy, development, and support of their Finance systems across a complex international financial services environment. This is a key leadership role managing a global team of on-shore and off-shore technologists delivering both change and BAU support for ERP and financial reporting software. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance systems, accounting platforms, and leadership within a regulated, fast-paced financial institution.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and support of accounting technology platforms (e.g., General Ledger, Revenue Accounting, P2P, Expense Management, Fixed Assets, etc.).
  • Drive a reliable and scalable tech operating model across multiple business entities and jurisdictions.
  • Ensure high standards of governance, compliance (e.g., SOX), QA, and SDLC adherence.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including Finance, Technology, PMO, and external vendors.
  • Deliver on project roadmaps, working groups, and steering committees for key initiatives.
  • Maintain system stability, performance, and DR readiness.
  • Support annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Nurture talent, provide clear leadership, and promote a values-led culture.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Leadership in accounting systems across financial services.
  • Expertise in General Ledger operations and financial reporting.
  • Deep understanding of accounting concepts (double entry, trial balance, financial statements).
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Financials / Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/PLSQL, ETL tools, and middleware technologies.
  • Familiarity with project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, JIRA, ServiceNow).
  • Demonstrated experience managing BAU and project delivery across global teams.
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of financial products (loans, derivatives, capital markets).
  • Cloud-based transformation (SaaS, PaaS strategies).
  • Understanding of revenue recognition and subledger accounting.
