Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance (Treasury) for our Local Authority client.

The Responsibilities of the Head of Finance (Treasury) will be;

• Act as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and leadership of the Council's financial services
• Lead the preparation, maintenance, and delivery of the Treasury Strategy and Policy
• Ensure the Treasury Strategy aligns with the financial objectives and statutory obligations
• Continually reassess the treasury position considering developments in the capital programme and financial markets
• Manage the cash flows, short-term investments, and both short-term and long-term borrowing
• Ensure full compliance with the approved Treasury Management Strategy Statement
• Advise the Director of Finance on the optimal duration and timing for long-term borrowing, including from different sources
• Ensure timely re-letting of service contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.

The Ideal candidate for the Head of Finance (Treasury) will have;

• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CIPFA, ACCA, ACA)
• Significant experience in treasury management and public sector finance
• Strong leadership and strategic management skills
• Strategic financial planning and management
• Effective leadership and team management
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
