Your new companyMy client, a leading international bank in the heart of London, is looking for a Head of Financial Institutions to join the FI department sitting within the first line of defence. This bank is one of the largest in the world and has an established London presence. This bank has cultivated a fantastic, modern culture and has worked to emphasise credit and establish it as a vital part of the lending process. You will be joining a small and supportive FI function within a wider risk team, and will work closely with other departments too, especially the credit risk team.What you'll need to succeedMy client is looking for an experienced and skilled Head of FI who has extensive experience within the UK market maintaining and expanding FI & NBFI clients and market clearing to clientele. Specific day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Establish key performance indicators for the organisation, which include metrics related to assets (such as loans and trade finance), liabilities (like deposits and placements), fee income, and client count.
  • Develop strategic plans for the growth of the financial institutions business.
  • Cultivate and expand business relationships with financial institutions in the UK, Africa, Europe, and China. These institutions may include banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and funds.
  • Encourage financial institutions to entrust their RMB clearing needs to our London branch.
  • Generate profitable and innovative business opportunities in the financial institutions sector that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with senior management, risk, and compliance teams to ensure potential clients align with our risk and compliance appetite.
  • Regularly provide management information and respond to ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by senior management.

My client is looking for someone who has at least 10 years experience in the UK, covering a variety of financial products, developing financial strategies, and understanding of the UK regulatory environment and foreign jurisdictions. They are looking for someone who possesses a good understanding of a variety of commercial banking products.
