About the Company

Altum Consulting are partnering with a dynamic, private equity-backed business with ambitious growth plans fuelled by a mid-market PE fund. With a strategic focus on hyper-growth, this business is actively expanding and preparing for an exciting future exit. We're looking for a Head of Global Accounting to lead our accounting function, delivering top-tier financial reporting and compliance for the group.

Role Overview

As Head of Global Accounting, you will have ownership of Group financial statements and oversee the comprehensive Group audit process led by KPMG. This role is based in London, and you'll have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and develop our accounting teams in both London and India. Your expertise in technical accounting and compliance will ensure that financial information meets all local laws, IFRS, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review, and sign-off of Group financial statements and manage associated audits, including those for various corporate and Channel Island entities.
  • Oversee monthly results and ensure compliance with UK-based PE ownership standards.
  • Keep the Group Finance Manual updated to reflect the latest accounting standards and drive continuous improvements in financial reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Group Tax, Group Treasury, FP&A, and Regional Finance teams, providing strategic guidance and support.
  • Leverage expert technical accounting knowledge for Group audits, transactions, acquisitions, and disposals, ensuring precise accounting entries.
  • Play a pivotal role in positioning the Group for a future sale/exit, contributing to due diligence processes confidently.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CA(SA), or equivalent with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.

  • Strong experience with group consolidation systems and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to driving excellence.
