I am working with a NHS Trust in London (near London Bridge) who are looking for an experienced Income Manager for 6 months initially.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying £25.57 PAYE per hour including holiday pay (Band 6).

The role is hybrid and require 3 days a week on site.

The role:

  • Accountable to the Income, Treasury and Cashiers Manager for the daily work of a team of Credit Controllers and Senior Credit Controllers, supervising and checking their work as required.
  • To schedule daily, weekly and monthly work to meet debt collection targets, ensuring that appropriate arrangements are put in place and available resources are used to cover absences.
  • Review team workload on a regular basis, ensuring that backlogs do not build up, and that all available resources are used as effectively as possible at all times.
  • Provide advice, guidance and leadership to staff in the team on how to deal with all aspects of credit control and query resolution.
  • Ensure that all Credit Controllers and Senior Creditor Controllers are aware of their targets and that they have plans in place to meet these targets.
  • Responsible for reviewing outstanding debts with all (Senior) Credit Controllers and making recommendations for bad debt provisions and write offs to the Income Treasury and Cashiers Manager. Similarly, ensure unallocated cash is: investigated, reapplied, refunded or written back into reserves in a timely way as appropriate.

Experience required:

  • Considerable experience working in a management or supervisory role in a sales ledger/credit control role.
  • Must have an understanding of the accounting framework within which the income function operates.
  • Must have an understanding of the operational procedures which are required to support the management of an income and debtors function.
  • Considerable experience of managing / supervising, motivating and developing a team of staff including setting objectives, carrying out staff appraisals and identifying training needs. Experience of disciplinary policies.
