Partner Interim are working with an international media business operating in over 20 countries, including several key European markets, the company boasts an impressive footprint across major cities. With a turnover of £500 million and a presence across both mature and emerging markets in Europe, they have a reputation for creativity, innovation, and sustainability. The European division is a strategic growth area, with strong performance and a forward-looking vision that leverages technology to drive business growth.

As the CFO for Europe, you will be a pivotal member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. Your role will be to oversee all financial operations for the European business, ensuring financial robustness, compliance, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance profitability and efficiency across the region.

You will lead a team of finance professionals across various European countries and work cross-functionally with commercial, operational, and legal teams to support the company’s growth ambitions.

Key responsibilities

  • Driving financial performance of the business through potential M&A processes and managing diligence process with close collaboration of legal and other teams
  • Assessing both short term and long-term risks and ensuring that sufficient actions are being taken against them
  • Owning the capital allocation and investment appraisal processes
  • Ensuring high team engagement, wellness and morale through a period of high-intensity and change
  • Collaborating with finance functions and business unit CFOs to manage and direct the overall financial governance for the European group

Ideal candidate

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CA)
  • Experienced FD / CFO who has held the lead finance position through a change in structure
  • Owned large capital expenditure budgets and extensive investment appraisal experience
  • Demonstrated capability to improve internal reporting and promote engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience working in the media industry is advantageous
