Interim Chief Financial Officer – 6-month contract

The role
As Interim Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key strategic partner to the Interim Chief Executive and Board of Directors, driving financial performance and ensuring the organisation’s long-term sustainability. This role combines high-level strategic leadership with operational expertise, requiring a proven financial leader who excels in analysis, communication, and collaboration across business operations.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing all financial operations, directing corporate financial planning, and providing insightful analysis to support evidence-based decision-making. You will lead the development and execution of the organisation's growth strategy, manage budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with financial laws and risk management practices.

This role demands exceptional presentation and influencing skills, the ability to craft detailed reports, and strong leadership capabilities to work effectively across diverse teams.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in CFO or Financial Director roles, a strong background in finance and accounting, and a proven track record in managing change. Expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and software implementation, along with a deep understanding of corporate financial law, will be essential for success.

Location: London/Hybrid (2 days a week in our client’s London office)

Candidate profile

  • Extensive expertise in finance and accounting, with a proven track record of leadership and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Fully qualified accountant with significant experience in changing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in prior roles as a Financial Director or CFO.
  • Deep understanding of financial principles and performance management strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate financial regulations and effective risk management practices.
  • Proficient in financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with the implementation and optimisation of accounting and financial systems.
  • Exceptional skills in analysis, presenting insights, and influencing decisions at a senior or board level.
