Overview:Ambient People is collaborating with a London borough to recruit an Interim Finance Business Partner - Housing & Environment.

You’ll be joining and supporting the team during a critical time as they go through a period of transition, helping make the process as smooth as possible and setting the organisation on the right path going forward.

This local authority is looking for a proactive FBP dedicated to making a significant impact on place and housing services. You must be comfortable working with the heads of service and be able to engage with stakeholders on all levels. The organisation is keen to speak with candidates who have experience in either of the two services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial advice to influence key decisions on complex housing issues
  • Offer financial insight, intelligence and support to key stakeholders and the service
  • Present the monthly financial performance report to council executives.
  • Prepare the quarterly budget review for housing projects.
  • Enhance reporting quality through financial reviews and detailed analyses.
  • Manage budgets and financial planning for housing initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in local government finance, particularly in Housing or Place
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities and effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of local government finance and budget monitoring processes.
