We're partnering with a small, dynamic international NGO working to advance justice, dignity, and freedom around the to recruit an InterimFinance Director.
As the Interim Finance Director, you will lead on all aspects of financial management, from strategy and budgeting to compliance and reporting. You'll play a critical role in shaping our financial sustainability and supporting the mission in a rapidly changing global context. The contract is expected to run until end of 2025 with the possibility for extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategy
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow processes
- Oversee financial reporting to donors, board, and statutory bodies
- Ensure compliance with international and local financial regulations
- Support funding proposals and donor reporting with clear financial insights
- Develop and improve internal systems, processes, and policies
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external accountants/auditors
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably in the non-profit or INGO sector
- Strong understanding of charity finance, compliance, and risk management
- Experience with multi-currency budgeting, grant management, and restricted funds
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Alignment with our values of equity, integrity, and human rights
Desirable
- Experience working in or with small organisations
- Familiarity with international funding and donor compliance (e.g. EU, USAID, foundations)
- Professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) welcome but not required
